My Journey From Student To Educator

Something that I often convey to my students is that my success is the product of a lot of exceptional people not only putting lots of love and energy into me and my training, but expecting me to become a conduit through which it is passed along.

  • 1990 - 2000.

I began singing and dancing with the West Coast Musical Theatre Company….

👨‍🍳 When not in the dance studio, you will find me in the kitchen. I am currently developing a Food Truck concept -something I like to call a ‘pop up supper club.’ Spaghetti’s Place will be a mobile venue that will feature LIVE local musicians and tap dancers, and of course the cuisine of my childhood. I will be documenting this journey on TikTok @SpaghettiMinniti. Come hang with me in the kitchen!

  1. 😇 On this website, I write a blog inspired by the birth of my daughter called Faith it ‘til you make it. It is an ongoing collection of stories beginning with Aria’s 10-week stay in the NICU, and one of the things I am most honored to recall for people, and continues with my now almost 8 year journey into parenthood. It is my hope to encourage a curiosity and perhaps deeper understanding of what faith looks like in the moment, whatever that moment might be.

  2. 📧 I write a weekly email newsletter called Spaghetti Says, where I share important updates, stories, recipes, videos, podcasts and anything else that inspires me or provokes meaningful thought, reflection and connection. Subscribe by clicking HERE.

Holla at me!

  1. Email me. I would love to hear from you! I love meeting new people, and I am always open to new opportunities, connections and relationships.

  2. Connect with me on Social Media.

Using our imaginations, we will travel to a new country everyday for a lesson in music, dance, art and culture!

*Daily snack and other camp activities will be themed around the country of the day.

Jazz dance is easily one of the United States’ most important contributions to the world of dance. Rooted in Jazz music…

Jazz dance can take many different paths and is often influenced by other dance styles. Jazz classes incorporates the techniques of many great jazz masters and choreographers. Jazz combinations reflect the work of choreographers such as Bob Fosse, Jermone Robbins, and Jack Cole.

Some of the movements are foundational movements found in Jazz, isolations, flexibility, syncopation, releve`s, pirouettes, rolled shoulders, jazz hands. Hip Hop foundational movements are similar in that they include: isolations, flexibility, and some syncopated movement (especially with the dynamic new music found in today’s pop, dubstep, R&B sounds. What makes Hip Hop differ is that you use a lower center of gravity (feet are grounded), most times on the beat (or “ride the beat”) . When merged, these two styles become sort of a hybrid.

Jazz Funk is a dance style of the body and mind. It can be lyrical in the sense of emotional interpretation. At times you may gracefully sideways shuffle on a beat and then boom!!! Hit isolations with sheer intensity! Movements are soft—then hard—then soft again. Jazz Funk tells a story with your body.

APPRENTICESHIP FUND | A $500 DONATION

In July of 2014The Breakthrough Movement began an apprenticeship program with 9 dancers (lovingly referred to as the Divine 9) while rehearsing our first original production in NYC and preparing for our Times Square Flash Mob (which almost got us arrested, DO NOT try on your next trip to New York).  This was also our company's largest in-person meeting with 21 of our then 30 dancers in attendance!

In July of 2015The Breakthrough Movement produced a 1-day workshop experience in New Orleans which officially kicked off our Online Apprenticeship; a web-breaking (if you will) group of 20 dancers from across the United States, Canada, and now Guatemala who use technology and social media to rehearse, freestyle and fellowship, which eliminates the geographic restrictions of a traditional dance company.

The Apprenticeship Fund supports the everyday operations of our Online Apprenticeship, which operates in the same way that out main company does....meaning that everyday choreography rehearsals, freestyling and fellowship primarily happens online.   This fund also ensures the opportunity for exceptional apprentices to travel and work with the company during Collaboration Tours, Outreach Programs and Workshops.
